The final new Quartet video, ‘The Ayes Have It,’ is now online (see below). This one was written back in 2011 just after the U.K. parliament voted to bomb targets in Libya, and as you can imagine it has a bit of a dark vibe. I’m also indebted to Jiannis Pavlidis on this one as we’ve played this tune a lot over the years, and it was written with him in mind (not because he’s a warmongerer!) Here’s to making music, not war.

St. Mark’s Series video two of four
It’s Monday, and just as for the next two weeks we have a new video to share as part of the Matt Anderson Quartet St. Mark’s Series.
This track is a kind of pop ballad and it’s called ‘Short Story.’ Hope you enjoy.
Matt Anderson Quartet – St. Mark’s Series
I’m excited to present the first of four ‘live in the studio’ videos recorded in May with my new quartet, which features the talents of Ashley Henry (piano), Will Harris (double-bass) and Jay Davis (drums). We’re playing a new original tune called ‘October Ending’ recorded in St. Mark’s church, Marylebone, through the Royal Academy, and there are three more tracks to come – I’ll be uploading these week by week so keep checking back if you want to hear more! Big thanks to the guys for playing so well and to the Academy recording department.
